Happy Spring!

Well not really, but it’s Friday and it’s sunny and still unseasonably warm at 50 degrees. I’m more than ready for winter to be over and once it is I’m never going back! Who’s moving with me?

Groundhogs don’t know a thing about climate change

Happy Groundhog Day, I guess.

So the stupid thing saw his shadow today, which means we have six more weeks of winter. But, I don’t believe that – mostly because a groundhog’s shadow is complete irrelevant – but also because this year is different from all the rest. We had a snow storm in October, but it was 60 degrees on February 1st. Just because today feels like winter again doesn’t mean it won’t be 80 and sunny next week. The weather has proved that it’s going to do what it wants to do, and it has been in my favor so far with a basically snowless winter. I’m going to go ahead and say that I don’t see any shadows on this cloudy day, so Spring must be on the way. Get over yourself, Phil.

It’s the Debbiest day of the year

Happy day of unhappiness!

Apparently today is “Blue Monday” according to a study that says the third Monday in January is the worst day of the year thanks to the cold and the end of the holidays. It makes sense seeing as there really is nothing to look forward to now except spring, which isn’t for another 800 years. Surprisingly, though, I am not feeling my usual seasonal depression on this bleak holiday. It may be freezing out, but the snow has yet to come (fingers crossed it never does) and I just bought a fab new winter coat.

Ally’s mupload from Miami. Don’t get too depressed you little brat –

My mother, however, may be feeling the depression today. Happy birthday, mom!

Happy winter (or let’s just not do that this year?)

I’m not a global warming fan – I like polar bears and you know, life on earth. But today is the first official day of winter (or the Winter Solstice if you like to be weird and consider it a holiday) and I am not hating this 54 degree weather. I guess we deserved it after the Halloween blizzard that ruined my life. I’m just glad I don’t live in Colorado where they got pummeled with 17 inches of God’s prank on humanity (I don’t like snow). But those people out there like to ski and stuff so whatever, they like it.

And so a new season starts…
